1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Benchstock ("we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Benchstock mobile application (the "App").

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

When you use Benchstock, we collect and store the following information on our servers:

Organization Data: Organization name, join codes, and settings
User Profiles: Device identifiers, user roles, and organization memberships
Inventory Data: Parts information including part numbers, nomenclature, quantities, locations, and transaction history
Activity Data: Issue and receipt transactions, stock adjustments, and inventory movements

We do not collect personal information such as names, email addresses, or phone numbers. The App uses device-based authentication without requiring traditional user accounts. We do not track your usage behavior or collect analytics data beyond what is necessary to provide the App's inventory management functionality.

3. How We Use Information

The information we collect is used solely to provide and improve the Benchstock service:

Store and synchronize your organization's inventory data across devices
Enable collaboration between members of your organization
Maintain transaction history and audit trails
Provide search and reporting functionality

We do not use your data for advertising, marketing, or any purpose other than operating the Benchstock application.

4. Data Storage and Security

All data is stored on our own physical servers running Supabase backend software. Data is transmitted using industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS). Access to your organization's data is restricted to members of your organization only.

Your organization controls who can access its data through the App's role-based permission system. We implement security measures to protect against unauthorized access, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes. Your organization's data is only accessible to members of your organization who have authorized access through the App.

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users or others.

6. Data Retention

We retain your organization's data for as long as your organization uses the Benchstock service. When a user leaves an organization, their membership record is removed but transaction history is preserved for audit purposes. Organizations can delete their data directly within the App settings.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Your Rights

Depending on applicable laws, you may have the right to:

Access or update your information
Request account and data deletion
Withdraw consent where applicable

Requests may be submitted via email.

9. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically. Updates will be reflected with a revised effective date and posted within the App or on the policy page.
